We
are three couples who are close friends and have been living
in theTuscan countryside for over 20 years.
We have in common the desire to share the many beautiful aspects
of this region with others : The pleasure of receiving guests
into our houses and of helping them to appreciate the wonderful
landscape, our olive groves and
vineyards as well as the traditions of the area.
Luli and Cristina
from Castiglion Fiorentino (Arezzo) have restored a house
over the last few years in the hills above the small town.
Luli is an inspired stonemason who is able to use natural
stone in magical ways when it comes to restoring an old farmhouse
or building an open
fireplace or baker´s oven. Cristina has a diploma in
the history of art and has her own studio for graphic design
(and publishing?). Since last year they offer their hospitality
to guests of the 4 apartments they let in a beautiful stone
house in the little settlement `Fiume´.
Klaus
and Jöelle live one kilometre outside the town
of Montepulciano in the midst of their olive groves in a
medieval farmhouse with a breathtaking view over the Sienese
landscape and the Chiana Valley. Klaus comes originally
from Germany and is a teacher of Arts and English as well
as playing the keyboards in an Arezzo Blues Band. His lifelong
dream came true as he planted his olive grove and vineyard.
His love and appreciation of Italy can
be seen in the beautiful photographs he takes. Jöelle
was born and grew up in Nice, her ancestors, however are
from Umbria and Tuscany. She works as a teacher in a nursery
school, is a gifted cook and active in amateur dramatics.
Klaus and Joelle´s house `Le Grazie´ has been
attracting friends for many years from all corners of Europe,
but also
artists, musicians and actors have rented the separate apartment
in order to relax and be creative in this beautiful corner
of Tuscany.
Marco
and Marina come from northern Italy and have settled
in Tuscany. He is an antiques dealer and studied the history
of art. Marina turned her back on life in the city and started
a small farm near Cortona producing olive oil and wine.
They recently moved to Tuoro at Lake Trasimeno, not far
from their farmhouse at Cortona which they fully rent out
to guests in the summer.
